Bosse High School rising senior Mekhi Lairy has received yet another collegiate offer.
The 5-foot-8 point guard received an offer to play college basketball from the University of North Alabama, which is transitioning into the NCAA Division I Sun Belt Conference. The looks keep rolling in for Lairy, who also holds offers from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, Miami University (Ohio), the University of Tennessee-Martin and the University of Evansville. North Alabama is currently Division II.
Lairy led the Southern Indiana Athletic Conference in scoring as a junior with 23.0 points per game and helped the Bulldogs advance to the Class 3A Semistate. Lairy, who paced the state in assists (8.2), is 457 points shy of breaking the city’s all-time scoring record, which has stood since 1999 (Jeremy Willis, Day School). Larry Weatherford (’67) owns Bosse’s school record with 1,559 points.
