Mekhi Lairy, a 5-foot-8 guard from Bosse who was a core Indiana Junior All-Star, received a NCAA Division I scholarship offer from UT-Martin.
“I am blessed that I get a chance to go to college for free and do what I love, which is to play basketball,’ Lairy said.
Lairy led the Southern Indiana Athletic Conference in scoring (23.0) and paced the state in assists (8.2). He is 113 points shy of supplanting Larry Weatherford as the school’s all-time leading scorer and 446 away from replacing Day School’s Jeremy Willis as the leading scorer in City history.
Lairy lifted the Bulldogs to a berth in the Class 3A state championship game as a sophomore and the 3A semistate as a junior.
